About the Role:
The Building Maintenance Person plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our facilities in Belfast. This position involves performing routine maintenance tasks, addressing repair needs, and conducting inspections to prevent potential issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for all occupants, which directly impacts the overall satisfaction of our customers and employees. Additionally, this role requires effective communication with management to report on maintenance activities and suggest improvements. Ultimately, the Building Maintenance Person contributes to the longevity and quality of our buildings, ensuring they meet industry standards and regulations. Individual would be a "Jack/Jill of all trades"
Minimum Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Proven experience in building maintenance or a related field.
* Basic knowledge of building maintenance,, plumbing and electrical
Qualifications:
* Certification in building maintenance or a related trade.
* Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
* Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds to access needs
* Perform repairs on buildings, plumbing and electrical systems
* Routine grounds maintenance to include mowing, weed wacking, and trimming of shrubs and trees
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools and equipment.
* Document maintenance activities and report on the status of repairs and projects.
Skills:
The required skills for this position include a strong understanding of building systems, which will be utilized daily to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with team members and reporting maintenance needs, ensuring that all parties are informed and aligned. Problem-solving abilities will be critical when diagnosing issues and determining the best course of action for repairs. Time management skills will help prioritize tasks and ensure that maintenance requests are addressed promptly. Additionally, familiarity with safety protocols will be applied to maintain a safe working environment for both staff and visitors.
