Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Nurse to take on the role of Clinical Matron for Paediatrics at Frimley Park Hospital. This pivotal role provides leadership across a dynamic and diverse range of paediatric services, including a 26‑beded inpatient ward, an adjacent 8‑beded Paediatric Assessment Unit, the Children’s Ambulatory and Outpatient Department (CACOU), and the Paediatric Community Services.

As Clinical Matron, you will play a key role in driving excellence in clinical care, patient safety, and service delivery. You will lead the development and implementation of strategies and work plans that align with Trust‑wide priorities, ensuring that the needs of children, young people, and their families remain at the heart of all services. This is a unique opportunity to influence and shape the future of paediatric care within a forward‑thinking and supportive organisation.

Responsibilities

Main duties of the job include ensuring the delivery of high‑quality care by implementing, monitoring, and reviewing clinical standards; collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to enhance patient engagement, safety, and outcomes; providing strong and effective leadership by setting, monitoring, and maintaining professional standards within the paediatric service; and working collaboratively to address and manage complaints while leading the nursing contribution to clinical governance at the specialty or departmental level in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Strategy.
