Apprentice Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician
An Apprentice Pharmacy Technician role offers an excellent earn‑while‑you‑learn opportunity, combining practical workplace experience with a Level 3 training programme that leads to qualification as a registered healthcare professional.
Working under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, you will develop the knowledge and skills needed to support the safe and effective delivery of pharmacy services.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities include accurately dispensing and labelling medication, assembling prescriptions, managing pharmaceutical stock and monitoring expiry dates, maintaining confidential patient records, and following pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures. You will also support patient care by advising individuals on the safe use of their medications and referring more complex medical queries to the pharmacist when appropriate.
Main duties of the job

The role combines practical on‑the‑job training with structured off‑the‑job learning, such as college day‑release sessions, as part of an accredited Level 3 apprenticeship programme. Apprentices are also required to build competency portfolios, gather workplace evidence, and complete assignments in line with the standards set by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
