Overview
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Liverpool to assist with the appointment of a Senior Project Manager, on a 3.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £357.55 - £473.00 per day
Responsibilities
* Develop and apply a prioritisation methodology for the 2026 programme using AMP data and building condition surveys.
* Prepare and present a Cabinet Report with recommendations for the 2026 programme, aligned with available and anticipated budgets (November 2025).
* Oversee the term consultant (Aecom) in preparing design and tender packages for the programme.
* Establish and manage the delivery programme for 2026 projects, ensuring compliance with financial, statutory, and quality standards.
* Provide a high-quality service to schools, offering advice and support on asset management and statutory responsibilities.
Qualifications
* Relevant built environment qualification (e.g., Architect, Technician, Building Services Engineer, Building Surveyor).
* Professional Project Management qualification (e.g., RICS, APM, PRINCE2 Practitioner).
Requirements
* Proven track record of project delivery within the built environment, particularly in education sector capital programmes.
* Experience of managing complex projects with strict budget and time constraints.
* Knowledge of DfE funding mechanisms, public sector processes, and Building Bulletins.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to influence at all levels (members, officers, schools, external partners).
* Leadership experience, including managing staff and external consultancy contracts.
