Job Overview
The MRI Radiographer will participate in the effective and safe operation of the MRI department at Newham University Hospital. Responsibilities include performing specialist MRI scans, assisting with clinical trials and research, managing patient flow, and ensuring high standards of patient care and safety. The role requires maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills, and contributing to continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform a wide range of specialist MRI scans.
2. Work collaboratively with radiographers, students, and clinical staff.
3. Manage patient flow, including emergency and inpatient scheduling.
4. Check conditional devices and book sedated patients.
5. Liaise with radiologists and clinicians to facilitate scanning procedures.
6. Uphold high standards of patient care and handle complaints professionally.
7. Maintain professional knowledge through CPD activities.
Qualifications and Experience
* BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography.
* Current HCPC registration or equivalent.
* Substantial experience in MRI imaging, NHS experience, and emergency MRI procedures.
Skills and Knowledge
* Knowledge of MRI techniques, policies, and legislation.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure, lead, and collaborate effectively.
* Computer literacy and problem-solving skills.
