This is a full-time post within the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department, supporting the Head & Neck skin cancer pathway, including Mohs surgery. The role offers an excellent opportunity to consolidate and enhance the management of Head & Neck skin cancers as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The postholder will undertake training and development within Maxillofacial theatres and contribute to outpatient clinics and minor operations in the outpatient setting. The Senior Clinical Fellow will be expected to perform minor skin cancer procedures under local anaesthetic independently, assist in consultant theatre lists, and confidently run regular outpatient clinics. While senior support will be available, the successful candidate should be capable of working autonomously in outpatient environments.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide high-quality clinical care in accordance with Trust policies and national standards.
2. Perform minor skin cancer procedures under local anaesthetic and assist in consultant theatre sessions.
3. Manage outpatient clinics independently, with senior support available as required.
4. Participate in Head & Neck multidisciplinary team meetings, audit, and service development activities.
5. Contribute to teaching, training, and supervision of junior staff.
6. Support implementation of the departmental and Trust-wide Clinical Strategy.
7. Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge and adhere to principles of Clinical Governance.
8. Undertake administrative duties associated with patient care and departmental governance.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential criteria
11. Full GMC registration
12. Ability to independently perform minor skin cancer procedures
13. Competent in running outpatient clinics for non-complex skin cancer cases
14. Registrar-level experience in the management of skin cancer
Desirable criteria
15. Pre CCT in OMFS, Oculoplastic, Plastic Surgery or ENT OMFS/Plastics surgery experience Pre CCT
16. Experience in skin cancer reconstruction
17. Previous participation in Skin Cancer MDTs
18. Experience in service development or audit leadership
19. Understanding of research methodology or previous research involvement
