Job Purpose:
The construction manager’s role is to manage and coordinate all on-site construction activities for MARCUS projects within an operational data centre environment. The Construction Manager will ensure safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of works, maintaining quality standards and meeting programme milestones while adhering to Google and EMCOR UK requirements. Duties:
1. Project Delivery: Manage end-to-end delivery of MARCUS (Moves, Adds, Retrofits, Changes, Upgrades, and Security) projects. Work with the EMCOR UK team to ensure adherence to project scope, schedule and budget
2. Site Management & Leadership: Oversee day-to-day construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules. Manage trade contractors and ensure compliance with site protocols.
3. Health, Safety & Environment: Enforce EHS standards, including LOTO procedures and permit-to-work systems. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to maintain zero-harm culture.
4. Programme & Quality Control: Monitor progress against baseline schedule and critical path. Implement quality assurance processes and rectify defects promptly.
5. Coordination & Communication: Chair weekly trade contractor meetings and monthly look-ahead sessions. Liaise with Google DCS teams and internal stakeholders to resolve issues.
6. Risk & Change Management: Identify and mitigate construction risks. Support change management process and maintain accurate records.
7. Reporting: Provide weekly look-ahead reports and updates on health, safety, quality, and progress.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
8. Proven experience managing data centre or critical infrastructure construction projects.
9. Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, EHS compliance, and quality standards.
10. Ability to interpret technical drawings and manage complex site logistics.
11. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
12. Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS Black Card).
13. Degree or equivalent in Construction Management or related discipline (preferred).
14. Experience working with G-Suite software (preferred)
