Import Clerk -Hybrid- Freight Forwarder (Sea Freight and Air Freight)
Progressive Freight Forwarder looking to add an Import Clerk to their team, busy, exciting working environment promoting development and progression!
Package
* Basic Salary 32k - 40k (dependent on experience)
* Bonus paid 2x annually
* 37.5 hours per week
* Monday to Friday 0900-1730hrs
* Paid overtime
* 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
Job Description
* The position would be a complete start to finish role, to include but not limited to:
* Arranging import shipments from worldwide origins.
* Arranging collections with selected transport companies.
* Liaising with clients and other branches,sales departments, hauliers, etc.
* Providing excellent customer service to import customers.
* Handling order traces, checking BOLs, AWBs, commercial invoices, processing pre-alerts from overseas offices.
* Good negotiating skills.
* An in-depth customs knowledge and the ability to complete import customs entries
* Experience at communicating with shipping lines, airlines and transport companies.
Candidate Specification
* Minimum 2 years experience in a similar function in the freight forwarding industry.
* Team player together with ability to work on own initiative.
* Tactfully handle customer queries / excellent telephone manner.
* Stay calm and focused under pressure.
* Willingness to work occasional overtime.
* Understanding of ocean imports would be an advantage.
