Transport Planner - Northern Ireland
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner on behalf of an established logistics organisation. This is a key role within a fast-paced operation, responsible for ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and reliable movement of goods across a busy transport network.

Responsibilities
* Plan and optimise daily and weekly transport schedules to ensure maximum efficiency
* Build and maintain effective delivery routes, balancing service levels with cost control
* Monitor live transport operations and respond quickly to delays, breakdowns, or last-minute changes
* Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and in line with customer expectations
* Communicate clearly with drivers, providing accurate instructions and ensuring adherence to schedules
* Work closely with warehouse, operations, and customer service teams to ensure smooth coordination
* Manage relationships with subcontractors and third-party transport providers
* Ensure full compliance with drivers’ hours, health & safety, and transport regulations
* Maintain accurate records and update transport planning systems in real time
* Review transport performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a transport planning, logistics coordination, or supply chain role
Required Skills
* Strong understanding of route planning, scheduling, and transport operations
* Working knowledge of drivers’ hours and transport compliance requirements
* Ability to work under pressure and make effective decisions in a fast-moving environment
* Confident communicator with experience liaising with drivers and internal teams
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
* Experience using transport planning or logistics systems
