About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to get into Estimating at Thames Water. You will be using the water industry-specific cost estimating system as your main source of cost information, working on a variety of water/waste pipeline projects for budget setting for key stakeholders.
Responsibilities as an Estimator
1. Review scope documents for errors/inconsistencies and seek clarifications or additional information from the relevant designer team.
2. Prepare cost estimates using TW costing database and/or assist in developing other costs from suppliers, price books, and previous contracts/projects.
3. Review and track target cost vs final account accuracy, supporting a process for future cost setting improvement.
4. Provide feedback to the Estimating team on database costing strengths, weaknesses, and improvements.
5. Prepare cost comparison reports to demonstrate project value for money.
6. Identify opportunities to improve the end-to-end process.
7. Ensure all stakeholders are engaged to meet agreed KPIs.
8. Provide relevant reports and data support to the Estimating Support Manager and wider team as required.
9. Provide embedded carbon values to support ongoing business reporting to Ofwat.

* Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience.
