The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Music Teacher to join the school from August 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner to teach music across a broad age range within a vibrant boarding school community.The successful candidate will contribute to both classroom music and the wider musical life of the school, supporting its strong traditions in performance, ensemble work, and cultural events.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality Music education aligned to the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence.• Teach across a range of year groups (ages 10-18).• Prepare pupils for National Qualifications, Highers, and Advanced Highers.• Support the school’s rich musical heritage through ensembles, performances, and events.• Contribute to extracurricular music and broader boarding school life.• Maintain high standards of assessment, planning, and classroom practice.
Requirements
• GTCS registration (essential).• Qualified Teacher Status with a recognised teaching qualification in Music.• Experience within the Scottish curriculum (desirable).• Strong musical ability and enthusiasm for developing young musicians.• Commitment to safeguarding and pastoral care.• Willingness to contribute to the school’s vibrant extracurricular music programme.
