This role has a starting salary of £35,730 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.
We are excited to be hiring 3 new Personal Advisors to join our teams. These roles offer hybrid working, combining community engagement, remote work, and office collaboration.

3. Permanent, full-time position based in Guildford

About The Role:
Our service aims to support every young person and child, recognized through awards like the 'PA Team of the Year' and a 'Star of Surrey' award. We foster a learning culture with support and training opportunities. The team manages increasing numbers of Unaccompanied Minors and Young People claiming Asylum, responsible for Surrey County Council.
As a Personal Advisor, you will manage a caseload of high-risk and complex young people, participate in assessments, and prepare Pathway Plans outlining their aspirations in education, accommodation, health, and social relationships. For asylum-seeking young people, immigration status considerations are included.
You will contribute to team success, represent the Leaving Care Service at various forums, chair Pathway Plan reviews, and liaise with partners for out-of-area young people. You may recommend services to the local authority and will carry out duties on a rota basis.
Shortlisting Criteria:
* Ability to build and maintain good relationships with young people, including those disengaged
* Experience working with asylum-seeking young people and knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Children Act 1989, Children Leaving Care Act 2004)
* Ability to adhere to reporting standards and quality assurance standards
* Awareness of issues facing socially excluded young people, including those claiming asylum
* Knowledge of Housing legislation, DWP Benefits, and Immigration Policy
