Job Description – Healthcare Support Worker (Wards – Nights) Salary: £24,397 – £25,767.50 per annum (pro rata) Contract Type: Permanent Hours: Part-time (22 hours per week, night shifts) Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join a ward-based team on night shifts. This role involves supporting Registered Nurses in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to inpatients within a clinical environment. Working as part of a friendly and experienced team, you will carry out a variety of clinical and non-clinical tasks, ensuring patients receive safe, effective, and dignified care. Key Responsibilities Support nurses with the delivery of high-quality patient care Assist patients with personal care needs, ensuring comfort and dignity Carry out delegated clinical tasks under supervision Accurately update and maintain patient records using IT systems Ensure ward areas are clean, safe, and well-stocked Follow all policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team Skills & Experience Required GCSEs or equivalent experience NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, Care Certificate, or willingness to work towards Basic Life Support (BLS) training Clinical skills such as phlebotomy, catheter care, ECGs, and dressing changes (desirable, training can be provided) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Caring, adaptable, and patient-focused approach Good IT skills and attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team What’s on Offer Competitive salary (pro rata) Generous annual leave plus bank holidays Employer pension contributions Life assurance and wellbeing benefits Free parking and subsidised facilities Ongoing training and career development opportunities Supportive and collaborative working environment
