Responsibilities
The successful role holder will be responsible for liaising with customers to establish testing requirements and to ensure tests are prepared, executed, clearly and completely documented and reported to the highest standards, on time and within budget.
1. Establish test content including review and inclusion of any regulatory requirements.
2. Prepare internal test execution documentation.
3. Ensure all Health and Safety and quality procedures are adhered to.
4. Development of Risk Assessments, supporting the strong culture of safe working.
5. Programming of test equipment.
6. Undertake analysis of results, including statements of conformity or engineering observations and interpretations.
7. Apply continuous improvement methods to activities and facilities to ensure ever improving processes and test methods.
8. Work in accordance with and support the creation of new and existing processes and procedures
9. Working in accordance with ISO .
10. Act in accordance with the behaviours for UTAC staff at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
Degree or equivalent in technical/electrical disciplines
Experience
11. Minimum of 2 years hands on experience performing tests within a lab or workshop environment, or working in the design and development of batteries, especially those containing lithium (Desirable).
12. Working with electric vehicles or sub-systems or other relevant HV systems (Desirable).
13. Experienced of CAN (Desirable).
14. Development and commissioning of test rigs and apparatus.
15. A clear understanding and ability to assess relevant health and safety risks.
16. Selection and application of various types of instrumentation and of data acquisition systems.
17. Practiced in data analysis and presentation.
18. Writing of technical reports.
19. Understanding of relevant international standards, in particular UN/ECE Reg., Reg and "38.3" for batteries and Quality assurance, particularly ISO and ISO (Beneficial).
Skills
20. Sound, practical understanding of electrical principles and battery fundamentals, particularly in regard to relevant safety aspects.
21. Programming of automation or software controlled applications
22. Ability to utilize HV diagnostic tools such as multi meters, oscilloscopes and clamp meters with best safety practices
23. Able to convey work instructions and test outcomes, both verbally and written
24. Strong organisational, analytical and problem solving skills
25. Data analysis, interpretation and presentation
26. Rig design using Solidworks or similar CAD packages (Preferred)
27. Experienced using Canalyzer (Desirable)
28. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
29. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
