Income Officer

We are delighted to be supporting a Surrey based Housing Organisation with their search for an Income Officer on a short term basis.
What will you do in the role? You will:
* Effectively reduce all accounts in arrears to meet monthly individual and team targets. This will include producing arrears reports and letters, communicating with residents and drafting instructions for legal possession proceedings, serving notices, home visits, applying for direct payments, attending court where required and providing appropriate advice and support to residents to enable them to sustain their tenancies.
* Communicate and liaise effectively with Housing Benefit Departments, 3rd party support and advise agencies and County Courts to assist with income collection and debt prevention.
* Manage, collect and recover debt from former tenant arrears and non-rent charges.
Knowledge and Experience:
* At least 2 years experience working in a Housing Association or Local
Authority
* Experience of income management, including attending court.
* Experience of working with or supporting vulnerable people using a person centred approach.
* Experience of working with a diverse customer base and addressing individual need.
* Comprehensive knowledge of Housing and Welfare Reform Legislation
* Experience of performance analysis, reporting and performance improvement.
