We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer M&E to join our Rail team on a full-time permanent contract. The role represents Mace with key clients and requires delivering defined business areas in line with the overall vision and objectives. The project involves working in the office three days per week with ad-hoc travel to sites in and around Belfast.
You’ll Be Responsible For
* Co-ordination of work with other contractors
* Liaising with route engineers (discipline)
* Participating in engineering and development assurance activities to deliver affordable schemes that meet programme requirements in a safe and environmentally responsible manner for time, cost and quality
* Participating in the engineering assurance process considering safety, reliability, maintainability, ease of construction, and environmental/whole-life issues
* Reviewing compliance with appropriate standards
* Using risk identification and evaluation methods (e.g. HAZOP, QRA) to evaluate and compare options
* Assuring (or undertaking where applicable) the development of the selected option
* Preparing the full engineering assurance package required for commencement of detailed design and answering clarifications as needed
* Carrying out engineering verifications
* Managing engineering interfaces of allocated proposals with concurrent work in other disciplines
* Producing and approving method statements for site works and surveys to required standards
* Assessing contractors’ design, construction and specialist personnel competence (e.g. CEM/CRE appointments) where applicable
You’ll Need To Have
* Preferably a chartered engineer and a relevant engineering degree (BSc/BEng or equivalent) with minimum 5 years of general relevant experience
* Able to undertake the role of Project Engineer (PE)
* Solid understanding of the Construction, Design and Management (CDM) 2015 regulations and common safety methods (CSM) 2013, especially asset protection on third-party, major and minor projects, always with the customer in mind
* Solid understanding of Network Rail requirements regarding risk assessment processes including CSM-RA
