Fleet Vehicle Technician with Dorset Police
Ferndown Police Station (EH)
£29,109 to £33,264 plus 18.7% employer pension contribution. Starting salary offered is based on experience.
Fleet Services are responsible for Force vehicles across Dorset, Devon and Cornwall. Our aim is to provide a safe and efficient vehicle fleet to meet operational policing demands.
We have two workshops in Dorset open Monday to Friday, and are looking for two Fleet Services Vehicle Technicians to join our workshop at Ferndown. We offer a diverse working week working on our fleet from purchase to disposal, including Light Commercial Vehicles, small cars, and all in between. Our service schedule interval is significantly reduced, ensuring we work on well-maintained vehicles.
Why choose a career as a Dorset Police Vehicle Technician? It’s more than just a job—it's a career! Many of our team members have over thirty years of service.
Our working environment is clean, warm, safe, and well equipped. We take pride in completing work to a high standard, not driven by customer budgets. All work prioritizes safety over profit, with no bonus scheme—our reward is the satisfaction of doing the job right the first time.
Work-life balance is a key benefit. We work a 37-hour week Monday to Friday, with no scheduled weekend work. Overtime is available occasionally, paid at an enhanced rate and optional. We offer flexitime, all Bank Holidays off, and a generous leave entitlement. There is also a death in service payout for peace of mind for dependants.
All specialist tools outside of normal technician tools are supplied. Personal tools and toolboxes are insured and replaced if broken.
Apply today to discover why our team stays with us.
