We are searching for a Food Safety Lead within our Quality Supply Chain team. We know you share our Purpose and Values, so if you feel that you have experience and skills we need, please see below for more details.
About the role:
The Food Safety Lead is site lead for ensuring compliance against Food Safety standards, including managing HACCP & food safety plan, supplier and raw material quality assurance, specifications and all customer and regulatory bodies interactions.
* Overall day to day management of the Food Safety System to ensure a clear focus on Food Safety is maintained.
* Engage with the business to ensure food safety and system requirements are continually improved and communicated.
* Run the Food safety value stream, ensuring Food Safety champions are engaged in improvement activities.
* Coordinate certification against FSSC22000, BRC, RSPO and customer audits as well as assisting in ISO certification audits (9001 and 14001).
* Coordinate root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances.
* Manage supplier approval and quality assurance, including vulnerability assessments and horizon scanning.
* Manage HACCP & sites food safety plan and all associated relevant document control.
* Manage Technical Support inbox. Providing questionnaires, statements, certifications and answering customers’ technical inquiries. Provide technical advice to GBD & Sales team.
* Ensure food safety team is performing to the agreed standards, managing individual performance to ensure each person is achieving their potential
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
* Ability to communicate positively across the organisation.
* Excellent networking skills to maintain contact with external/third party organisations to represent Devro and keep up to date with appropriate standards.
* Ability to present to all levels of the business, think through challenges logically and adjust priorities in line with business needs.
* Degree qualified in a technical or food background with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment. Or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical function of a food manufacturer.
* Supervisory/Management experience is also desirable.
* Lead auditor in FSSC22000 and/or BRC, and ideally in RSPO HACCP level 4 trained.
* Proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary groups in problem solving non-conformances.
