Head of Philanthropy (Music)

They need to build new relationships and a new fund that will ensure this important tradition continues for many years to come. They are seeking an individual with the necessary skills and experience to help them further advance this mission. They are also looking for someone who is genuinely curious and enthusiastic about working in their environment and who values the power of music to make a difference in the life of the organisation.
The purpose of this new role is to fundraise for our client’s music. The postholder will excel at building relationships with people, speak with passion about their music and will be able to cultivate relationships with potential donors to the fund. It will suit a flexible, self-motivated people person who thrives in a varied and interesting role.
Key Points
- A full-time permanent role. 35 hours per week, able to be worked flexibly by agreement, including the option for hybrid working.
- Salary £54,565pa.
- Benefits:
- Eligible to join our client’s pension scheme after 6 months.
- 25 days’ holiday PA, plus bank holidays, plus 3 gift days at Christmas.
- Travel will be required using own transport with reimbursed expenses.
- You will work as part of a hardworking, dedicated team of 21 FTEs and circa 200 volunteers. The team works in an open plan environment at our client’s offices, which helps and ensures that they always have an eye on what they’re striving to support and sustain.
Primary Responsibilities
- Represent our client and their musical offer.
- Oversee all aspects of the organisation’s Music Fund and its growth.
- Raise funds for the music department.
- Write and deliver a philanthropy strategy.
- Plan and deliver events and engagement opportunities for potential donors.
- Identify and engage with potential donors and cultivate lasting relationships.
- Work with the music department to maximise fundraising within musical activities.
- Work with the Music Fundraising Committee.
- Oversee, review, refresh, and take the lead on existing music groups and their development.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide reports and KPI data as required.
