At SLGFA, we believe every girl deserves access to high-quality football coaching and the chance to experience a professional academy environment. Our mission is to create a program that mirror the standards of elite clubs — helping talented young players unlock their potential and chase their footballing aspirations.
We’re growing our coaching team and are looking for passionate, skilled, and reliable Academy Coaches to join us on a self-employed, sessional basis.
The Role
As an Academy Coach, you’ll deliver dynamic, engaging sessions that reflect SLGFA’s methodology and values. You’ll be part of a supportive coaching environment that places equal importance on technical excellence, player welfare, and personal growth.
Our Lewisham sessions take place on Friday evenings from 5.30-6.30pm and 6.30-7.30pm at Jubilee Grounds, Catford.
You’ll:
Deliver high-quality, structured football sessions in line with our academy framework.
Create an environment that inspires learning, confidence, and enjoyment for every player.
Arrive prepared, professional, and ready to deliver excellence every time.
Communicate effectively with players, parents, and the wider SLGFA team.
This is a sessional, self-employed role — ideal for ambitious coaches looking to contribute to an inspiring and progressive girls’ football environment.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for coaches who share our passion for quality and impact:
Experience working within a professional football club or elite player environment.
FA Level 2 / UEFA C Licence (minimum).
A strong understanding of player development principles and safeguarding standards.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A genuine commitment to empowering girls through football.
Pay & Conditions
£20–£30 per session, depending on experience and qualifications.
Self-employed, sessional contract.
Requirements
Before starting, all coaches must hold valid:
FA Safeguarding Children Certificate
FA First Aid in Football (or equivalent)
Enhanced DBS Certificate
