Premises Officer / Caretaker - Full-Time (5 Days per Week)
Location: Secondary Schools across Bromley
We are seeking a reliable, experienced and proactive Premises Officer / Caretaker to join a welcoming network of secondary schools across Bromley. This is a full-time, permanent position working five days per week, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to well-maintained, safe and inspiring learning environments.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the day-to-day maintenance, security, and cleanliness of school buildings and grounds
* Carry out basic repairs, maintenance tasks, and routine inspections
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and school policies
* Manage site security, including opening and closing of premises
* Liaise with contractors and external services when required
* Support site operations for school events and activities
* Identify and report maintenance issues promptly
* Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors
Requirements
* Previous experience in a Premises Officer, Caretaker, or similar facilities role (essential)
* Strong practical knowledge of building maintenance, health and safety, and site operations
* Ability to work independently and take initiative
* Good communication and organisational skills
* A proactive, reliable, and hands-on approach to work
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
* A degree or higher-level qualification is preferred but not essential. Candidates with strong relevant experience and a proven track record in school or public sector premises management are strongly encouraged to apply.
