IT Operations Manager – Contract type: Permanent, 35 hours per week. Location: RCN Cardiff Gate with hybrid working (40%). Salary £69,051 - £77,910 per annum. Ref: RCN02753.

As the post holder you will be responsible for the duties within the attached job description and should meet the required person specification commensurate with the position.
You will work closely with the Head of IT Operations, IT Service Delivery Manager and hold line management responsibility for the 3rd Line Engineer and 2nd Line IT Operations Engineers, ensuring delivery of excellent second and third line technical support and a first-class frontline service to our customers.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the Network and Communications and Security systems to the RCN, including Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, telecommunications, Firewalls, and other associated technologies.
The post holder will also be responsible for assisting the Head of IT Operations with IT projects and upgrades and enhancements to existing systems.
Together with the Senior Infrastructure Architects you will act as an overall design authority for IT Infrastructure and provide expert subject advice to the RCN on all matters of IT Infrastructure.
To join us you’ll need infrastructure and network skills with technical knowledge of IT systems and, ideally, a background in a relevant area such as Cisco network infrastructure technologies, technical support and implementation of Windows Server technologies in a large enterprise environment.

Responsibilities
* Lead and line-manage the 3rd Line Engineer and 2nd Line IT Operations Engineers, ensuring delivery of second and third line technical support and a high-quality frontline service.
* Support and maintain Network, Communications and Security systems, including LANs, WANs, telecommunications, firewalls and related technologies.
* Assist the Head of IT Operations with IT projects, upgrades and enhancements to existing systems.
* Act as part of the design authority for IT Infrastructure, providing expert advice on IT infrastructure matters.
* Demonstrate infrastructure and network knowledge and experience, ideally with Cisco technologies and Windows Server in a large enterprise environment.
Qualifications and Skills
* Infrastructure and network skills with technical knowledge of IT systems; background in Cisco network infrastructure technologies is desirable.
* Experience in technical team management.
* Strong customer focus and ability to deliver accurate work.
