Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated School Site Supervisor to manage the facilities, maintenance, and safety of a large Academy in the Thornton area. This is a vital role in ensuring our school remains a safe, warm, and welcoming environment for pupils and staff. The start date is ideally during or immediately following the February half-term (W/C 23rd February).
While we require coverage between 07:00 and 18:00, the school is incredibly flexible. We are happy to appoint one individual for the full hours or split the role between two people (e.g. a Morning Supervisor and an Afternoon/Lock-up Supervisor).
Current Required Hours:
* Monday - Thursday: 07:00 - 11:00
* Friday: 07:00 - 10:00 & 17:00 - 18:00 (Lock-up at approx. 17:30)
* Note: We are open to adjusting morning or afternoon blocks to suit your schedule!
Key Responsibilities
* Site Security: Opening the school by 07:30 and ensuring a secure lock-up in the evenings.
* Health & Safety: Conducting regular compliance checks, safety reports, and maintaining school grounds.
* Seasonal Maintenance: Ensuring paths are salted and safe by 07:30 for staff arrival and fully cleared by 08:35 for pupils.
* Logistics: Supervising food and milk deliveries, setting up water fountains, and ordering cleaning materials.
* Team Support: Coordinating with cleaning staff and managing general school maintenance tasks.
What We Are Looking For
* Experience: Background as a Caretaker, Site Supervisor, or in general facilities management.
* Reliability: Someone who takes pride in punctuality especially for that 07:00 start!
* Practical Skills: Ability to handle minor repairs and a solid understanding of H&S regulations.
* Communication: A friendly professional who can interact well with staff and visitors.
