Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activities Coordinator with a focus on community engagement and wellbeing to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will organise and facilitate engaging activities tailored to residents in assisted living and care home settings, with particular expertise in senior care, dementia, and Alzheimer's care. This role offers an opportunity to positively impact residents' quality of life through meaningful social and recreational programmes, fostering a vibrant and inclusive environment.
Duties
* Plan, develop, and implement a diverse programme of activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical wellbeing for residents.
* Organise community events and outings to enhance residents' connection with the wider community.
* Collaborate with care staff to tailor activities to individual needs, especially for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's.
* Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, games, and exercise classes suited to various mobility levels.
* Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to continually improve activity offerings.
* Foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere that encourages resident participation and socialisation.
* Liaise with families and external organisations to enrich activity options and ensure residents' interests are met.
* Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations whilst maintaining a fun and engaging environment.
Requirements
* Previous experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or care home environments is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of senior care principles, including dementia, Alzheimer's care and Mental health, is essential.
* Strong communication and rapport building skills with the ability to connect effectively with residents of all ages and backgrounds.
* Experience in caregiving or caring roles within senior or community settings is advantageous.
* Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to plan programmes that cater to diverse needs.
* Compassionate nature with a genuine passion for enhancing the wellbeing of older adults.
