We are looking for caring, motivated and enthusiastic Band 3 Maternity Support Workers (MSWs) to join our team at the Jessop Wing. You will work across a range of maternity areas, supporting midwives and nurses in delivering safe and compassionate care to women, birthing people, babies, and families.
About the Role
Successful applicants will work flexibly across all areas of maternity, including:
Labour Ward
Maternity Assessment Centre (MAC)
Antenatal and Postnatal Inpatient Wards
Antenatal Clinic
Community Maternity Services
Your responsibilities will include supporting clinical observations, infant feeding, patient care, record keeping, and assisting the wider multidisciplinary team. This is a varied role with opportunities to build a broad range of maternity skills.

Main duties of the job
To support the midwifery team in the management of the mother and baby throughout their care episode.
To share information with midwives about the condition of mothers and babies and report concerns where appropriate in a timely manner.
Carry out routine and complex clinical tasks delegated.by the midwife.
To support the multidisciplinary team to deliver bespoke women centred care.
To provide assistance to families in the antenatal setting, birth environment, maternity theatres and postnatal period.
To interface with women and their families in a prompt, professional and sensitive manner upholding the Trust PROUD values.
Escort women and babies within the hospital environment as directed by the midwife.

1. Significant Clinical Support Worker experience at the Jessop Wing
2. Able to undertake venepuncture
3. Experience of recording and undertaking the MEOWS score or equivalent
4. Knowledge and experience of infant feeding
Qualifications

5. English GCSE A- C (4-9) or Functional skills English at level 2 certificates/evidence must be provided
6. Maths at GCSE A- C (4-9) or Functional skills Maths certificates/evidence must be provided
7. Venepuncture training completed Certificates/evidence must be provided
8. Care Certificate/Prepare to care course certificates/evidence must be provided
9. Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support/ Senior Healthcare Support Worker certificates/evidence must be provided
