Female Advanced Support Worker - Kendal (29 Hours per Week) We’re looking for a compassionate and skilled Advanced Support Worker to join our team in Kendal, supporting a lady in her home and community. She lives independently in a downstairs flat and requires 24-hour support to live a fulfilling and empowered life. About the Person You’ll Support Communicates using pen & paper or a Lite Writer Loves music, YouTube (especially cat videos!), shopping, and coffee shops Enjoys exploring new places by bus or train Big fan of cats and a good giggle ️ Loves trips to the park (especially the swings!) Uses a PEG regime for medication (training provided) Uses a wheelchair in the community Key Traits Needed Patience, understanding, and the ability to support when fixated or frustrated What’s Important To Them Staff who understand their communication style and give them time Their family Going to the bank Music, YouTube, and cats ️ Shopping and walking About You You’ll Be a Great Fit If You Hold a Level 3 qualification in Social Care (or have strong experience) Have experience with mental health, autism, sensory communication, and physical health needs Are passionate about helping people live independently Are a brilliant mentor and team player ️ Are confident using alternative communication methods Shift Pattern & Hours 29 hours per week Shifts: 10:00am-10:00pm followed by a sleepover Morning shift: starts at 7:30am after sleepover Training & Development We’ll Support Your Growth With Specialist Training In Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Makaton Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) PEG feeding Important Note Sometimes the people we support really need a male or female person to support them.
