Job Title: Batter Operator (12hr shifts rotating days and nights)

Reports to: Process Supervisor
Overall Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to ensure that batter quality meets customer specifications, protect the brand, maintain trust, and fulfill legal obligations by sourcing and manufacturing food to the food integrity requirements of each customer.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* Perform quality checks to ensure batter viscosity meets customer specifications.
* Adjust machinery if batter quality deviates from specifications.
* Conduct basic maintenance of the batter machine and maintain cleanliness of the work area.
* Complete thorough handovers at shift changes.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and GMP practices.
* Assist process operators as needed.
* Perform process quality checks when required.
* Attend and contribute to MCS meetings.
* Follow Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) principles, ensuring own safety and safety of others.
* Carry out sanitation duties, including shutdown procedures.
* Remain at the workstation until relieved during shift handover.
* Provide on-the-job guidance and training to colleagues.
* Report and escalate production issues promptly.
* Support shift engineers with process advice during breakdowns and repairs.
* Perform any other reasonable tasks assigned by supervisor or manager.
Qualifications
Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent). Lamb Weston chemical training, H+S, GMP. PPT and RPPT certifications required.
Experience
2-3 years of food manufacturing experience. SAP/SCADA experience. Pallet truck operation.
