A well-established, multidisciplinary environmental and design consultancy is seeking an Ecologist to join its team based in Lockington. The successful candidate will join a respected ecology team working on a wide range of projects across sectors including residential, commercial, infrastructure, and conservation. Key responsibilities include:
Undertaking a variety of habitat and protected species surveys
Producing high-quality ecological reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Ecological Impact Assessments
Supporting project management and coordinating survey programmes
Advising clients on ecological constraints, mitigation, and enhancement opportunities
Contributing to biodiversity net gain strategies and habitat design
Mentoring junior team members where appropriate
You will ideally have:
A degree in Ecology or a related discipline
Proven experience in ecological consultancy or a similar role
Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
Experience with protected species surveys (one or more licences desirable)
Excellent report writing and communication skills
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. working towards or holding CIEEM membership)
A full UK driving licence
