A position has become available in a small and friendly team for a Practice Nurse. We are ideally looking to employ an experienced Practice Nurse but training will be considered for the right candidate.
We are a passionate team, caring for over 11,000 patients and have a varied patient demographic. We are looking to employ a passionate Nurse to compliment our existing team. We strive to provide high standards of patient care, improve access and provide our team with the tools to provide effective and safe care.
Job responsibilities
* Provide evidence based care inline with current guidelines and surgery policy
* Carry out wound care within competency level
* Provide routine immunisations are part of the UK incomplete and complete schedules in accordance to PGD's
* Provide injections under PSD within competency
* Provide Travel health advice and immunisations
* Perform cervical smears, pregnancy tests, and provide contraceptive advice.
* Carry out ECGs, venepuncture, urinalysis, and wound care (including ulcer management and suture removal).
* Ensure Infection control and practice policy are adhered to
* Chaperone and assist patients being examined by other clinicians.
* Leadership & Team Support
* Mentor and supervise any new-to-practice nurses, nursing associates, and HCAs.
* Work collaboratively with the wider practice team to enhance patient care.
* Promote public health and screening programs, including immunisations and cervical screening.

Person Specification
Essential
* NMC registered Adult Nurse and maintaining NMC requirements of revalidation with no restrictions on practice
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Understanding of national and local guidelines.
* Passionate in their role
* Good level of communication skills both verbal and written which can be tailored to a wide range of stakeholders and adhering to NMC code of condut.
* Good level of ICT knowledge and skills.
* Good organisational skills and time management.
* Professional, calm and efficient manner.
* Self-motivated, can work well independently and within a team.
* Works safely and effectively when working autonomously and in conjunction with other health care professionals.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety and Infection Control
* Must have own transport and ability to drive as role is based across 2 sites, 10 mins drive apart
Desirable
* Experience in Primary care
* Knowledge of QOF and quality outcomes
* Experience of System one
* Experience of clinical audit, evaluation research and implementation of evidence based practice.
* Understand clinical governance and risk management.
* Long term condition management – training can be given to the suitable candidate
