Description We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Data Engineer to become part of our Data and Systems Team at our Scarborough head office. This full-time role will report directly to the Head of Data and Systems. It offers the chance to join a highly regarded organisation that genuinely values and supports its people. The role of Data Engineer is pivotal in driving our organisation's strategic ambitions through data-driven insights and solutions. You will develop and maintain sophisticated data warehousing and lakehouse solutions, enabling us to transform raw data into actionable intelligence. Your proficiency in data technologies, including SQL, big data, and cloud services, will empower you to optimise data pipelines and establish scalable infrastructure to support our evolving business needs. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by leveraging data to inform strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement across the organisation. Skills And Experiences To be successful you will have: Education, training and / or relevant experience equivalent to undergraduate qualifications in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics or similar. Demonstrated expertise in various data technologies including data warehousing techniques, big data, data architecture, and cloud data services (e.g. Azure) Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, SQL. Proven ability in data manipulation, system integration and process automation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to trouble shoot complex data issues and optimise data processes. High-level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to quickly establish rapport and manage collaborative working relationships. Must be able to engage with diverse client groups and work effectively within a high-performance team to achieve business outcomes. Excel in capturing and translating stakeholder needs into effective data models, ensuring that the reporting and analytics infrastructure meets the evolving demands of the business. Demonstrate innovative problem-solving skills in establishing and optimising data pipelines, with a keen eye for efficiency and scalability. Ready to play a pivotal role in the organisation's data strategy forward. Willingness to adapt to new technologies, methodologies, and challenges is essential.
