Health & Safety Officer
Location: Warrenpoint, County Down
Salary: £30,000 per annum

Ashton Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer on behalf of our client, an award-winning facilities management and building services contractor operating across the UK and Ireland.

The Role
Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing HSEQ systems across the organisation. This is a varied, hands-on position involving both site-based and office-based responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)
* Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HSEQ systems
* Assist in the creation and maintenance of health and safety documentation
* Support the reporting, investigation and follow-up of incidents, near misses and non-conformances
* Carry out site inspections, audits, and assist with RAMS preparation and review
* Monitor compliance with health and safety standards across projects
* Support internal audits and ISO management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
* Coordinate and track health and safety training and competency requirements
* Work closely with operational teams to promote safe systems of work
* Contribute to health and safety initiatives and campaigns across the business
* Provide general support to ensure the effective running of the HSEQ function
Essential Criteria
* NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, engineering or similar
* Strong understanding of safe systems of work in construction environments
* Working knowledge of quality assurance processes
* Experience supporting or working with ISO systems (9001, 14001, 45001)
* Good knowledge of current health and safety legislation
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Full UK driving licence
