About the Role
As a key member of our team, you'll play a vital role in the care and preservation of wedding gowns. This position is hands-on, detail-focused, and integral to the smooth operation of our services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Inspect wedding dresses for stains, damage, or needed repairs
* Prepare gowns for cleaning by reading care labels and assessing fabric types
* Clean delicate garments using specialist techniques (full training provided)
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace
Who We're Looking For
No prior experience in garment care is necessary - we provide full training. We're looking for people who bring the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
Essential Skills & Attributes:
* A friendly, team-focused approach - this role supports the whole team
* Strong attention to detail and ability to notice minor flaws or damage
* Common sense and the confidence to ask questions or take initiative
* Reliable and responsible with a good work ethic
* Great communication skills
* A genuine interest in quality craftsmanship and garment care is a plus
* Experience in sewing and alterations is also welcomed
What You'll Learn:
How to safely clean and handle delicate and specialty fabrics
How to identify fabric types and interpret care labels
Techniques for minor dress repairs and preservation methods
The Important Stuff
Job Type: 6-month probationary period - Full-Time. Part time and flexible school hours may be considered.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week full-time
Schedule: Monday to Thursday 8:30-5:00, Friday 8:00-1:00.
Overtime: Available during peak periods
Experience: Experience in garment and textile care preferable but not necessary - full training will be provided
Start Date: ASAP
