Contract Type: Permanent Working Hours: Part Time Number of Positions: 1 Start Date: 1st June 2025 Salary: £14,383 per annum We currently have an exciting opportunity for Catering Assistant to join our fantastic team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA) Working hours will be Monday through Friday, from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. We’re looking for: A reliable and hardworking Catering Assistant to support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to prepare and serve meals while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Someone who will be comfortable working around childre n and able to work well as part of a team. A flexible approach is essential, as the role will involve a variety of tasks including food preparation, serving, cleaning, and assisting with stock and deliveries. Main purpose of the job: You will supervise and support student(s) in the dining areas and elsewhere as required to provide high quality support over lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being and assist with feeding and other personal care needs, as required. About the Candidate Key responsibilities include: Support the preparation and serving of meals to pupils and staff Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas Assist with general kitchen duties, including food prep and washing up Ensure meals are served efficiently and on time Create a safe and welcoming environment for pupils during meal times Follow food safety and health & safety guidelines at all times Work effectively as part of a team under the direction of the catering supervisor or cook About Us We’re the local council for one of the UK’s most vibrant and diverse cities.
