By ensuring tools are manufactured to exactingstandards and delivered on time, the role enables the business to respond rapidly to new ordersand designs while maintaining the highest levels of quality and efficiency.Roles and Responsibilities High-Precision Toolmaking: Manufacture and refurbish high-precision, low-tolerance toolingto technical drawings using manual and CNC workshop equipment, including XYZ ProTrakmachines. Tool Design & Development: Collaborate with design teams to interpret engineeringdrawings and develop new tooling solutions that support evolving products, machinery, andprocesses. Innovation & Problem Solving: Provide timely, creative engineering solutions tomanufacturing challenges. Propose and implement innovations to improve tooling andproduction processes. Workshop Standards: Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workshop environment throughproactive housekeeping and strict adherence to safety protocols. Provide support to maintenance team activities when requested.
Experience Proven experience in precision machining, tool design, and fabrication. Skilled in high-precision, low-tolerance toolmaking. Experience with CNC and manual machining, particularly on XYZ ProTrak machines.
Competencies Manual & CNC milling and turning (with emphasis on XYZ ProTrak desirable). High attention to detail and ability to work to extremely tight tolerances. Strong task prioritisation and time management skills. Effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Clear communication and ability to collaborate across functions. Initiative-driven with an innovative mindset.
