We are seeking a compassionate and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with special educational needs by supporting their learning, wellbeing, and personal development. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs
* Assist with the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
* Adapt learning activities to suit individual abilities and needs
* Support pupils’ social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour
* Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and outside professionals
* Contribute to the development of a nurturing, inclusive learning environment
* Provide supervision during break/lunchtime and help with personal care if required
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Experience supporting children with SEND in a school or similar setting
* A calm, empathetic, and flexible approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
* The ability to build trust and positive relationships with children
* Understanding of a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language difficulties
* A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, CACHE, or SEN-specific training) is desirable
