Role: HR Apprentice (CIPD Aligned)

What You’ll Be Doing:
You’ll play a key role in supporting our HR team, helping deliver a high quality service to colleagues across the UK. Your work will include:
HR Operations:
1. Supporting onboarding, contracts, inductions, and employee lifecycle admin
2. Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring GDPR compliance
3. Managing the HR inbox and responding to queries
4. Assisting with Employee Relations casework and policy application
5. Helping maintain HR systems and supporting digital HR improvements
Talent & Recruitment:
6. Drafting job adverts, screening applications, and arranging interviews
7. Supporting right-to-work checks and referencing
8. Helping coordinate apprenticeships, work placements, and early careers activity
9. Managing the careers inbox and updating recruitment records
Training & Development:
10. Booking training, maintaining records, and supporting mandatory training
11. Assisting with digital learning platforms and new initiatives
12. Working with the Training team to ensure sector-specific compliance
Payroll Support:
13. Assisting with timesheet checks, data collation, and employee changes
14. Supporting communication with the payroll bureau
15. Learning how HR, payroll, and operational systems integrate
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
16. A genuine interest in HR, people development, or business administration
17. UK driving licence
18. GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
19. Strong organisation and attention to detail
20. Confident communication skills
21. Professionalism and respect for confidentiality
22. Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative
23. Comfortable working in a fast paced operational environment
24. Ability to travel to depots when needed
Desirable:
25. Experience in admin or customer facing roles
26. Familiarity with Microsoft Office or HR systems
27. Interest in Traffic Management, Construction, or Highways sectors
