Fulbridge Social Care is recruiting Experienced and Trainee Residential Youth Workers to join our casual team. The roles involve working in children’s residential homes and Independent Living settings. We seek flexible, reliable, and interactive individuals eager to work in a specialist environment where full training and qualifications are provided.
Main Responsibilities
1. Providing security, guidance, interaction, and support to young people with challenging behaviour and complex needs.
2. Supporting young people aged 11 to 18, many of whom are in the care system with diverse disorders, behaviours, and needs.
3. Assisting with daily tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, education, and shopping.
4. Interacting with professionals like Social Workers, Probation Officers, and Police Officers.
5. Supporting young people in environments such as classrooms, courts, and police stations.
6. Driving the unit car to destinations like family contacts, schools, and social activities (a driving license is essential).
7. Completing an enhanced DBS check and participating in induction programmes prior to placements.
Person Specification
1. Ability to form professional relationships with young people.
2. Good reading, writing, and reporting skills.
3. Effective communication with young people in various ways.
4. Willingness to participate in all activities and follow work patterns.
5. Ability to work as part of a team and participate in training and development.
6. Awareness of health, safety, and welfare of young people.
7. Understanding of child development and learning.
8. Knowledge of equal opportunities and discrimination prevention.
