Administrator & Receptionist (The Panton Practice)

37.5 hours per week (Full time/Part time hours available)

Salary: Up to £12.21 per hour

We arecurrently seeking capable, enthusiastic, and committed Practice Team administrators/receptionists to join our close-knit, hardworking, and friendly team. Whileprior experience with SystmOne and the NHS is advantageous, it is notmandatory.

JobOverview: This role is dynamic and multifaceted,involving administrative support for clinical staff and the management ofpatient inquiries in various formats face to face, telephone, and throughclinical systems. It demands an individual who can maintain composure duringbusy periods, possesses excellent communication skills, IT proficiency,multitasking abilities, and confidence in both independent and collaborativework within a supportive and flexible team environment.


Main duties of the job

KeyResponsibilities:

Admin Duties: Assisting with patient registrations,workflow, coding of hospital and professional correspondence, andother related tasks.

ReceptionDuties: Managingpatient appointments, e-Consultations, and assigning workloads tothe appropriate clinician.

Prescription Duties:Processing prescriptions requests through various systems, Medication monitoring, Workflow of documents and general administration.

TelephoneDuties: Handling phoneinquiries and queries in accordance with established protocols.

ProblemSolving: Addressingissues and queries from patients, doctors, nurses, community staff, and otherrelevant teams.

RecordsManagement: Organisingand retrieving medical records, letters, and test results.

ComputerUsage: Updating patientinformation on the computer system.

PremisesManagement: Ensuringthe practice premises are ready for the day (opening and closing duties),maintaining tidiness in waiting areas and consulting rooms, and replenishingstationery supplies.

AdditionalResponsibilities:

Administrativeand Professional Duties: Actively participating in practice teamresponsibilities and maintaining accurate records when requested.

Meeting Participation: Attending practice meetings andtraining sessions as needed.

Confidentiality: Respecting patient privacy and adheringto strict confidentiality policies and procedures regarding patientinformation, practice staff, and business-related data.

About Us: The Panton Practice is a large GPpractice dedicated to serving a diverse population of around 17,000 patients. Our teamis comprised of experienced professionals, including GP Partners, SalariedGPs, Nurse Practitioners, Paramedic Practitioners, Practice Nurses, and ourinvaluable Reception and Admin team.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration


Experience

* Demonstrable Administrative and Reception experience
* Ability to work in a flexible way and respond to change
* Able to demonstrate advanced computer literacy / keyboard skills
* Demonstrable Administrative and Reception experience in the NHS


Additional

* -Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
* -Ability to communicate sensitive information.
* -Accuracy and attention to detail.
* -Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritise, delegate and
* work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* -Proactive with the ability to work under pressure on their own initiative and maintain confidentiality to the highest degree.
* -High degree of flexibility in an ever changing environment.
* -Self-motivator .
* -Exemplary standards of personal conduct and behaviour to ensure personal credibility.
* -Able to work independently as well as part of a team and able to take positive action without immediate line managers supervision.
