Governor (Volunteer, Fixed‑Term 4‑Year Term of Office)
Location: Across the group. Corporation meetings are held in Grimsby.
Overview
The TEC Partnership is one of England’s largest providers of further and higher education, offering a range of pathways for our learners, including nursery, 14‑16 provision, A Levels, T Levels, Apprenticeships, vocational training, specialist commercial training, Bootcamps, Adult education, and Higher‑level degrees.
This is an exciting time to join the team as we are ambitious for the group, its staff, and students.
Responsibilities
As a governor you will:
* Attend corporation meetings (five per year), committee meetings (ranging from one to five per year), and a strategic development day.
* Participate in training sessions, governor engagement activities and attend events such as graduation ceremonies, celebrations, shows and performances.
* Review and read relevant papers before each meeting to be prepared to discuss items and make decisions.
* Listen, analyse information and ask insightful questions to contribute effectively.
* Work with other board members and staff, receiving support from the Director of Governance and Chair of the Corporation.
About the Person
Expressions of interest are welcomed from talented and experienced individuals with the time and energy to commit to the governor role.
We seek a broad range of expertise and backgrounds, including:
* Legal
* Finance
* Human Resources
* IT
* Local strategic leadership
* Community partnerships
* SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)
We also encourage applications from individuals from minority ethnic backgrounds to reflect the local community. Prior governance experience is welcome but not required; training and support will be provided.
