Lifeguard (Zero-Hours)

Salary: £15.13 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay
Brighton College are seeking to appoint Lifeguards on a zero-hour basis.
Main Purpose of the Role: The primary purpose of this post is to take responsibility for the safety of swimming pool users. Applicants will need to have an up to date National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and at least six months lifeguarding experience.
General Duties and Responsibilities
* Maintain a constant surveillance of pool users and recognise and react to signs of danger.
* Explaining and enforcing rules, regulations and policies to ensure safety of pool users.
* Carry out emergency rescues and treatments until medical staff arrive.
* Provide a professional and friendly welcome to all users.
* Promote and provide an environment that is clean, safe and comfortable for all users.
* Ensure timetabled sessions are set up and cleared away promptly.
* Cleaning duties, as required, on a day-to-day basis to achieve the highest standards of presentation (supported by the cleaning team).
* Assist with sports equipment set ups and supervise activities.
* Be familiar with the College's Health and Safety Policy and its application to all site facilities.
* Any other reasonable management request.

* Safeguarding trained (desirable).
* First Aid qualified (desirable).
* COSHH (desirable).
* Manual Handling (desirable).
* At least six months of lifeguarding experience (essential).
Hours of Work
This is an all-year round (52 weeks) appointment on a zero-hour basis. The services you provide to the College will be on an ad-hoc basis. This means that whilst the College will try to give you as much notice as possible when offering work, there is no obligation on the part of the College to provide such work nor for you to accept any work offered.
Further discussions will take place at interview regarding availability of ad-hoc hours.
Remuneration
£15.13 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
Holidays
Holiday entitlement is included in the hourly pay rate for this role.
