The Chelmsford Learning Partnership (CLP) is a dynamic and forward-thinking Multi Academy Trust dedicated to providing high-quality education and fostering a supportive learning environment for all students. As one of Essex's largest and most successful Multi-Academy Trusts, we are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Board of Trustees. As a Trustee, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of our Trust, ensuring that we continue to deliver outstanding educational outcomes and uphold our values.

Our vision for our schools is a simple one. We believe that, as a collective of schools, we are stronger together and that by working together we provide an outstanding education for every child in our family of schools. We also believe it is important for schools in our trust to keep their individual identity and all our schools operate with their own autonomous Headteachers, leadership teams, staff, and Local Governing Bodies; each with their own ethos that makes every school in our trust unique.

The Chelmsford Learning Partnership wants to continue to raise education standards and outcomes. We are looking to appoint a Non-Executive Director, with previous leadership experience in an education setting, to join the Trust Board. The ideal individual will have a passion for education and provide the Trust with the highest levels of governance. The successful candidates will need to have a variety of experiences in holding executive leadership to account. Insights are required from a wide range of backgrounds to ensure that the Board can make informed choices on the decisions that may impact the lives of children in our schools, however, desirable experience would include safeguarding knowledge, school performance, curriculum planning and delivery, assessment and improvement, staffing, admissions and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership and governance to the Trust.

Ensure the Trust's vision, mission, and values are upheld.

Monitor and evaluate the Trust's performance and impact.

Support and challenge the executive team to achieve the Trust's objectives.

Ensure financial stability and sustainability.

Act as an ambassador for the Trust, promoting its work and values.

Person Specification:

A strong commitment to education and improving outcomes for all students.

Experience in governance, leadership, or strategic planning.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively and constructively with others.

Integrity, impartiality, and a commitment to the highest standards of governance.

Experience and background in the education sector is desirable.

Terms of Office

Trustees are appointed for a term of 4 years, with the possibility of reappointment for a further term.
