Our client is currently seeking to recruit an Automotive Project Planner with a range of skills to join a growing team delivering OEM, motorsport, and niche vehicle projects.
Role Summary:
Working as a key member of the Program Management team to enable successful quoting of potential future projects and successful delivery of current projects. Undertaking project planning of stand-alone small to mid-sized projects and aiding planning on mid to large-size projects, for both current and future work. Manage multiple projects and programs, maintaining plans and forecasts. Responsible for the creation, maintenance, review, and administration of project planning activities, resource utilization reporting, and planning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Create and maintain tools to aid planning of current and future projects, ensuring consistency of approach.
2. Assist in creating project plans for new proposals and existing projects through liaison with functional department leaders and program managers.
3. Keep the project team up to date on progress to present to key stakeholders.
4. Manage multiple projects and programs, maintaining strategic plans and forecasts.
5. Work closely with engineering supply chain to create schedules and help manage deliveries.
6. Identify risks and opportunities within plans.
7. Resource planning, updating resource utilization forecasts to support planning of current and future project activities, liaising with functional areas to ensure forecasts are maintained.
8. Maintain project file directory database, ensuring configuration control for project documents and reports.
9. Support and adhere to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management systems (e.g., TS 16949, ISO 9001/2014).
10. Maintain knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties are performed safely.
11. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Minimum HNC/HND or third-level qualifications.
* Experience in project planning.
* Good communication and professional presentation skills.
* Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
* Proficient in MS Office and/or Google Suite.
* Experienced user of planning software (e.g., MS Project or other).
* A degree in Engineering or Project Management discipline would be advantageous.
* Knowledge and experience of automotive product development process and activities beneficial.
* Knowledge of VBA.
* Awareness of budget and financial management.
