We’re looking for a Management Accountant who not only has the technical skills but also brings positivity and a solutions-first attitude to everything they do.
The Role
This is more than a numbers role, it’s about working collaboratively alongside department managers across the business, understanding their challenges, and helping find practical, effective solutions. You’ll be a natural problem solver with a proactive mindset, someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growing retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly management accounts with a focus on stock reconciliation and cost of sales, including interpreting the figures and preparing clear narrative reports.
* Prepare monthly store performance dashboards to support the retail team, interpreting data and providing insightful commentary.
* Manage cash flow and working capital.
* Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and balance sheet reconciliations with a strong focus on cost-saving opportunities.
* Reconcile insurance sales and prepare VAT returns.
* Ensure licensing compliance for all stores (e.g., second-hand dealer requirements).
* Calculate store commissions and bonuses to tight deadlines
* Manage supplier payment runs.
* Prepare statutory year-end accounts and audit schedules.
* Work closely with multiple managers, building trust and delivering clear, constructive insights.
You will report into the Financial Controller and Financial Director
We do offer some flexibility around working hours and days to help balance your work and life commitments. For example, a 4 or 5-day workweek with adaptable daily hours for the right candidate, which can be discussed at interview.
What We’re Looking For
* ICAS, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
* Proven Management Accounting background (retail or stock accounting preferred).
* Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-focused mindset.
* Naturally positive and resilient, able to build rapport quickly.
* Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with managers at all levels.
* Advanced Excel and strong financial systems skills.
