What do the team do?
The Business team provides a mix of accounting services, forecasting, year end accounts preparations and tax returns.We have a relationship centric approach and are trusted advisors to clients of all shapes and sizes, but they are typically owner managed businesses, giving you the opportunity to deal directly with the decision makers and to truly help shape the direction of their firm.
In our Cambridge based Business team you will beresponsible for the delivery of year end accounts and tax computations for clients with turnovers up to the audit threshold.
What will I be doing?
As anAccounts Semi Senior/Senioryou will have ownership of the following tasks:
* Completing moderate to large accounts preparation assignments.
* Demonstrating a good standard of general tax knowledge to complete the accompanying tax computation accurately, in particular with regard to VAT, corporation tax and personal tax.
* Clearing queries directly with client and suggesting sensible solutions.
* Reviewing team members' work before passing to manager.
* Coaching juniors and providing feedback on the quality of their work and performance.
* Controlling assignment timeframes in line with pre-determined budget.
What experience do I need?
Whilst having the following experience is advantageous, we value passion and potential. If you meet the minimum criteria listed below and are eager to develop yourself, we would love to hear from you:
* A professional accounting qualification – part or fully qualified ACA or ACCA (minimum criteria).
* Experience of working in an accountancy practice in the UK preparing sets of accounts (minimum criteria).
* Up to date working knowledge of corporation tax, personal tax, VAT and annual/management accounts.
* Client facing experience.
* Experience in the leisure and tourism industry would be an advantage.
* Experience of using Caseware, Alphatax/Digita, Sage and Xero would be preferable.
