As a Deputy Care Manager, every interaction with the young people you support matters. From simple daily conversations to supporting them through challenging moments, these experiences build trust and help young people move forward positively.

The Role As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the residential home and help lead a team providing high-quality care to young people.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the overall management of the home
Supervising and mentoring Senior Support Workers and care staff
Ensuring young people receive the highest standard of care and support
Assisting the Registered Manager with reports, reviews and operational management
Taking responsibility for the home in the managers absence
Promoting an individualised approach to support for both residents and staff
Monitoring staff performance and identifying training and development needs
Creating and maintaining a warm, homely environment
Building strong and positive relationships with young people and colleagues
Supporting and organising activities and outings
Maintaining accurate electronic care records
Experience with systems such as Clearcare is beneficial, though full training will be provided. Staff must be comfortable using digital care recording systems as part of the role.
About the Home The home supports up to four young people aged 818 of mixed genders.
Young people may present with:
Emotional and behavioural needs
Social and learning difficulties
Past experiences of vulnerability
The home aims to provide a safe, stable and nurturing environment where young people can build confidence, independence and life skills.
The focus is on creating a family-style home environment where young people feel supported, encouraged and able to reach their full potential.
About You We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and leading a care team to achieve positive outcomes.
Essential requirements:
Minimum 2 years experience in childrens residential care
Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People / Residential Childcare / Health & Social Care
Experience supervising or leading support staff
Strong communication and reporting skills
Ability to work flexibly across shifts
Full UK manual driving licence
