The Role
We’re looking for a passionate individual skilled in engagement work with experience of leading innovative co-production community projects, audience development programmes and delivery of ambitious event and activity programmes within the heritage and cultural sector.
This role is a wonderful opportunity to create an animated and inspiring community co-production and engagement programme which will inform and support every step of our exhibition development, and the associated public programme and lifelong learning offer, ensuring that the new Museum and Art Gallery is firmly rooted in the audiences it serves.
As a key lead in the development and co‑ordination of core engagement elements for the brand-new Museum and Art Gallery, you will manage complex stakeholder engagement activity, and work with a variety of teams, council services and external designers to help shape our vision and ensure existing and new audiences are involved at key stages of museum and gallery exhibition development.
If you thrive on forging new partnerships, sparking bold models of collaboration, and propelling fast, hands‑on action that empowers heritage audiences to share their stories inclusively, this could be the role for you.
We Are Looking For
* Someone to lead and inspire our communities to engage and support OCH Museum and Art Gallery development and advocate for our audiences.
* An ambitious programme planner who is enthusiastic about inclusive practice and innovative approaches to co‑production and collaborative practice.
* An individual who thrives in dynamic settings with strong interpersonal skills who can communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
* A confident and organised project manager able to work independently and work flexibly to achieve key goals with positive action.
* Someone who appreciates the significance of meaningful audience engagement, and values volunteering and lifelong learning, and how museums and art galleries contribute to these.
