Wharfeside Care Home is a welcoming, person‑centred residential home in the heart of Otley. We pride ourselves on creating a safe, comfortable, and homely environment for our residents. Our housekeeping team plays a vital role in maintaining the high standards that make our home a place residents are proud to live in.
Role Overview:
As a Housekeeper at Wharfeside Care Home, you will help ensure that all areas of the home are clean, tidy, and well‑presented. Your work directly contributes to the wellbeing, dignity, and comfort of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home, including bedrooms, bathrooms, communal areas, and staff spaces
2. Carry out daily cleaning routines such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising surfaces
3. Change bed linen, launder clothing and bedding, and manage laundry systems efficiently
4. Ensure cleaning supplies are stocked and stored safely
5. Follow infection‑control procedures and health & safety guidelines
6. Report maintenance issues promptly
7. Interact with residents in a friendly, respectful manner, supporting a warm and homely atmosphere
What We’re Looking For:
8. Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience (care‑home experience is a bonus but not essential)
9. A caring, patient, and respectful approach
10. Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Opened in the Autumn of 2022, Wharfeside is a fabulous pupose built home to provide excellent care for residents with varying degrees of support.
Built over 3 floors with 66 beds and including a dementia floor, we have roles to engage all.
