About the Role
Trafford Council is recruiting social workers to join the Central Neighbourhood. The teams work with adults in a range of situations involving varying disabilities, long‑term conditions, preparing for adulthood, adults at risk of drug abuse, hoarding, dementia and alcohol issues. We seek skilled and motivating social workers for a busy and challenging role.
A significant part of your role is to provide social work assessment and intervention, utilising a strengths‑based and person‑centred approach, securing appropriate funding when necessary. For the level 3 post you must have at least 3 years post‑qualifying experience and act as a mentor for less experienced staff.
You will provide an effective response to safeguarding enquiries in line with the Care Act, local policy and procedures. In return we offer flexible working arrangements, a structured development programme, professional supervision and opportunities for skill development.
Responsibilities
* Engage in informative and preventative conversations that include outcomes‑focused, strengths‑based social work assessments and related interventions.
* Manage a caseload, planning working hours to balance tasks with team responsibilities.
* Build effective professional relationships with other disciplines and local health and social care services for coordinated responses.
* Share workload responsibilities with colleagues, supporting each other to utilise strengths, skills and knowledge to meet adult social care demands.
* Participate in a duty rota, responding to urgent demands for individuals in crisis.
* Provide an effective response to safeguarding vulnerable adults, overseeing enquiries in line with the Care Act and local policy.
About You
