OH Medical is currently seeking an experienced Band 7 Senior Occupational Health Nurse to join the in-house team of a public sector department, in a Full-Time Permanent role. This exciting opportunity will see you working in a hybrid post with your working week split between an onsite clinic based in Doncaster with occasional visits to a linked clinic in Worksop and opportunities to work from home.
The Role:
This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced Band 7 Senior Occupational Health Nurse to join an established in-house Occupational Health Team to deliver a first-class full remit Occupational Health Service. Your duties will include:
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Occupational Health Clinical Team, including managing sickness absences, handling initial disciplinary matters, and addressing informal grievances promptly.
* Delegate pre-employment screening and management referrals effectively, ensuring timely completion.
* Guide managers on Occupational Health Service referrals and support employees in their rehabilitation and reintegration after sickness absences.
* Handle a clinical workload as needed, covering sickness absences, medical referrals, work health assessments, and health surveillance. Offering expert advice and direction on all OH matters to all employees.
* Develop and implement monitoring systems to ensure compliance with OH KPIs
* Ensure the Occupational Health Service meets quality standards for accreditations, Department of Health guidance, and established best practices.
* Provide appropriate vaccinations and health surveillance to staff to ensure workplace safety.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and specialists to implement preventive measures and improve practices.
* Develop policies and procedures tailored to the OH Service's needs, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
* Ensure the Occupational Health team is equipped to support staff in acute distress situations.
* Strategically plan, manage, and enhance the Occupational Health Service, ensuring efficient resource utilization, financial management, and staff supervision.
* Monitor service level agreements and external contracts related to Occupational Health Services.
* Initiate and engage in clinical audits and research to enhance Occupational Health Service effectiveness.
* Provide proactive Occupational Health advice to enhance staff attendance and achieve KPIs in absence management.
* Take the lead on vaccination and immunization plans, striving to boost vaccination rates annually.
Required Skills:
To be the successful Band 7 Senior Occupational Health Nurse candidate for this role, you'll be:
* An NMC Registered Nurse
* Hold a Degree/Diploma in Occupational Health.
* Previously experienced in an Occupational Health Department within the public sector or a similar environment.
* Able to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of best practices and their practical application.
* An excellent communicator with skills, in both verbal and written communication, including proficiency in report writing.
* Experienced in team support and management.
* Able to demonstrate experience in developing Health and Wellbeing Strategies.
* Proficient in IT, with essential skills in COHORT OH Software.
* A valid and current driving licence holder.
