We have an exciting opportunity for an Animal Care Technician to join our team at Loughborough College Group, based at Brooksby College.
You will maintain a high standard of animal husbandry and contribute to the curriculum needs of the Animal Care department. Working alongside a dedicated unit staff, you will also interact with students on a practical basis and work with a wide variety of animal species. The role supports the growth and development of the College’s practical Animal Care facilities, providing an opportunity to work with an organization committed to the ongoing development of its people.
You will have a passion for innovation, bringing new ideas and embedding new technologies into the learning environment.
Responsibilities
* Routine care and management of college animal care livestock
* Maintain a clean and efficient working environment in the Animal Care Unit
* Liaise with appropriate vocational areas to plan supervision and assessment of students
* Carry out health and safety and risk assessments in accordance with college procedures and practices
Qualifications
* Have a Level 3 qualification in Animal Care or equivalent
* Recent experience of working in the industry
* Able to assist in the development of safe systems for practical activities
* Experience of caring for a range of animals
